Dry type transformers are much more tolerant of the usage environment than oil immersed transformers, and can operate stably under various complex conditions
Moisture resistant, dust resistant, no need for special machine rooms
The winding insulation material of dry-type transformers (such as epoxy resin) has excellent moisture resistance (insulation resistance ≥ 1000M Ω), and can isolate dust and water vapor through a "fully sealed structure" (such as IP54 protection level). Even in the rainy season in the south (relative humidity above 95%) or in dusty environments such as textile factories and cement plants, there will be no problem of insulation performance degradation.
Oil immersed transformers need to be installed in a dry and clean dedicated machine room, otherwise dust will block the heat dissipation fins, and moisture will accelerate the aging of the insulation oil, limiting their usage scenarios.
Resistant to high and low temperatures, adaptable to extreme climates
Dry type transformers with different insulation levels can cover a wide temperature range: F-class (155 ℃) is suitable for conventional environments ranging from -20 ℃ to 40 ℃, H-class (180 ℃) can operate stably in low or high temperature areas ranging from -40 ℃ to 50 ℃, and some special models (such as high prototype) can also adapt to low-pressure environments above 4000 meters above sea level (to avoid a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency due to thin air), widely used in high-altitude power stations and distribution systems in cold regions.
