The structure of dry-type transformers is simple and has no vulnerable parts, greatly reducing the manpower and material resources required for later operation and maintenance
No need for oil maintenance, reducing operation and maintenance workload
Oil immersed transformers require regular (every 1-2 years) testing of the dielectric loss, breakdown voltage, and moisture content of the insulation oil. If necessary, oil filtration and replacement are also necessary, resulting in high maintenance costs and time-consuming maintenance; Dry type transformers only require a visual inspection every six months to one year (cleaning the dust on the winding surface and checking the tightness of the wiring terminals), without the need for complex oil quality testing. The operation and maintenance workload is only 1/5 of that of oil immersed transformers.
Long lifespan, long equipment replacement cycle
The epoxy resin insulation layer of dry-type transformers has strong chemical stability and is not easily aged. Under normal operating conditions, the service life can reach 20-30 years (about 15-20 years for oil immersed transformers); And its winding does not suffer from the "sludge deposition" problem of oil immersed transformers, and its performance deteriorates slowly after long-term operation, reducing the frequency and cost of equipment replacement.
